Beacon House, which was founded in 1996 by a group of Christians from Colchester Baptist Church, adopts a holistic approach to the problem of homelessness and has as its over-riding goal the desire to transform lives, rather than simply to serve the need.
Our Day Centre in Colchester, Essex, provides a welcoming and non-judgemental environment which encourages a sense of belonging for people who are currently excluded from the wider community.
In a normal, non-Covid year we have approximately 9,000 Guest visits to the Day Centre, comprising approximately 500 unique individuals, of whom an average of 200 are new each year. Appointments with our nurses number 1,400 – 1,500 per year.
